Teacher's Pet... In a Sweater Vest!

 

 

There is something about putting on a sweater vest that instantly makes me feel smarter! I don't know what it is, but it just exudes professor or straight-A student to me. And I love how the subtle leopard print in my vest, paired with the snake embossed print on my wedges update this classic style!

Sequins and florals... a dream come true!

Alright... so it is cold again! So what is a girl to do with her little floral dress? Put a sequin blazer over it to warm up! I'm not loving all the ups and downs with the weather, but I do appreciate getting to wear layers- I live for layers! Feeling very colorful... Again!

Going with my theme this week of colorful outfits... we have this look!

Again I think that you can play with different colors being paired together as long as you have a link. My links are the red in my skirt, to my lipstick, to my sunglasses and back around to the little bit of red that is in my snake bracelet. So go have fun with color this week!

Feeling like a bag of Skittles... in a good way!

 

I don't know about where you live, but here in Georgia it was gorgeous over the weekend!!

So I brought out all of my bright colored pieces for this festive look :) My rule has kind of always been that any colors can be worn together as long as you have a link between two of the pieces to tie it all together- so I picked my bright fuchsia necklace and snake embossed flats as my two linking items! (And to boot- my vintage sunglasses have neon pink in their frame!)

This week while I was browsing around on Forever 21, I came across the next bracelet I was going to add to my collection and the inspiration for this week's need- animal jewelry! There is just something that is so status about a great jaguar bracelet, a lion head necklace or even a sweet bunny on a ring! So I picked out a couple of wonderful animal pieces that I think are worthy of checking out including this white enameled jaguar bracelet that I just got for myself!!

Houndstooth and spikes... I think they like each other!

 

 

My two biggest weaknesses are shoes and blazers! (Ok well brownies too, but that is a whole other blog topic!) So when I found my new favorite blazer at H&M I knew of course I had to pair it with my favorite shoes I currently own- I love the contrast between the men's inspired hounds tooth print of the blazer with the super edgy spikes on my silver pumps (and silver metallics are going to be huge for spring!)

anchor print and neon... ahoy matey indeed!

 

 

My new favorite color is very quickly becoming electric pink! It looks great on every skin tone and it just makes you look more alive and confident! So when I visited my local J.Crew Factory store and saw this pretty little high-waisted skirt on the rack- oh it was coming home with me for sure!!

I knew I already had my neon framed sunglasses and my great bracelet with a pop of pink so it wasn't that hard to start to pull this look together for me!

A blazer... orange you glad?!

 

I like to think of a blazer as the superhero of your closet- there is not much it can't do! A blazer can elevate any outfit and make it feel put together and polished. And don't get me wrong I love my black and tan blazers, but there is just something about a pop of color for one! So anytime I find a blazer in a great color I know it is coming home with me- and this orange linen blazer was no exception! It will be perfect through the spring and summer months and is great now also while it is still a little cool out!

Buffalo... well the plaid atleast, talking about the animal would just be weird!

 

 

 

Waiting for Spring to arrive can be nerve racking to say the least! You see all these great outfits on mannequins in the window displays of all your favorite stores, you buy and then you wait to wear them! Arrhhgg...

So the one day last week that we had pretty decent weather, I decided to let my pale legs play outside a bit! Yep that's right, me- without tights! :)

But I must say the combo of mint, polka dots and red buffalo plaid take my mind off the chilly days we have around the corner and have me definetly springing forward!
