Outfit I need... Thanks Modcloth!!

 

So I went desktop shopping today at Modcloth (that's my new equivalent to window shopping) and I added all these items to my cart thinking they would all make the cutest outfit together! And then hoping that they will still be available next week (when we get paid)! Is that sad? Ok don't answer if you are thinking yes! It's called Presumptuous Shopping- the art of assuming you will have enough left over out of your paycheck to buy a whole cohesive outfit. :)

A cardigan... The longer, the better!

 

I just love that time of year when it is just warm enough during the day to wear a little sun dress, but when a breeze comes by you need a cardigan! I would say to definitely invest in a dress length cardigan if you don't have one! They are so great at transforming a pretty great dress in a really great outfit!

I like butter on my bread... and on my jeans!

 

 

 

I just love pastels! And when I saw these butter colored jeans at Banana Republic I had to say yes! The yellow is so soft that you can pair them with anything and make a great outfit! And I do have on my other pair of Jessica Simpson's that I told you about on Monday :)  (Don't you like both pair too?!)

Keeping it in the family.... the color family that is!

 

I have always loved the idea of a mono-chromatic look, but I have also always loved to pick a color and then go with it from head to toe in varying shades! So if you have a great ocean blue dress, then a turquoise cardigan and then some navy blue pumps- I say do it all day long! And while you are at it, throw in a cobalt handbag to really knock it out of the park!

 

When I found these Jessica Simpson pumps I literally died over the color! And then I died a little bit more when I saw the sweet bow in the back! (I loved the style so much, I bought the leopard version of this shoe also!) So I thought my new pumps would work great with this little clutch I have had forever and then the outfit just came together from there! :)

Bonjour... Can we go to Paris?

I have always been obsessed with French style. The women are always so timeless and effortlessly chic- they just look like they rolled out of bed that perfectly put together! I took three years of French in High School just thinking that one day I would be able to go and talk to the locals, sit in a little cafe and sip on espresso and stroll through vintage shops to find those once-in-a-lifetime pieces to add to my closet!
Well I am 27 now, still haven't been to France and all I can remember for French class is "Hi, my name is Jodie and I am 16 years old", "my little cabbage" (a term of endearment that I do use on my son Hudson) and the basic "hello", "thank you a lot" and "yes, good". So here is to wishing that one day I will make it over there, but until then I always have my classic striped top, little chino pants and a red lip to get me through the day! :)
