A blue blazer... but not feeling sad at all!

I have a weakness for blazers- I will take one in any shape or color and love it to pieces! So when I lucked out and scored this Rock & Republic bright cobalt blazer on clearance last year (reg $90 and only paid $17 thank you very much!) I was beside my self! Mostly from the shopping high of getting such a great deal, but also for all the outfits this blazer would make!
So I just put it over a tank and high waisted shirt and then added additional pops with my leopard booties and fuchsia accessories (including lip stain). Then when it starts warming up a little outside I think I will pair it with some pastel skinnies and a plain white tank and some great ballet flats!

Wednesday's One Item Wonder!

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a little obsessed with QVC. Especially when it comes to beauty products! They can't be beat on their prices for makeup and skincare, so needless to say I stay tuned in to all their little beauty shows to score my BareMinerals and Mally for super cheap! So a while back during an exiting hour of lip gloss, I happened to catch a glimpse at an upcoming show they were going to have on- wait for it- The Jacqueline Kennedy Collection!

Foxtrot Pendant

So after I watched and learned about the pieces I was hooked! I can honestly say they replicate each piece from her archived collection down to a T! They showed each of her real pieces in photographs next to the replica piece and told the story of how she acquired it! I learned that if she wore a piece that had emeralds in it, it was given to her by JFK as a gift. And that her famous Sunburst pin would cost over $100k if purchased in today's market! I love anything and everything Jackie O, so I can say I will be adding her replica collection into my closet one piece at a time!

The fur vest... feeling cozy just thinking about it!

I thought I would give one last go at a winter staple piece before we all move into Spring wonderfulness! A fur vest (faux in my case) is such a versatile piece to add to your winter essentials and can be paired with just about anything to make an instant outfit! I have had my Luxe Rachel Zoe vest for about 3 years now and to prove my point that they stand the test of time- it is still available to purchase! Happy Shopping and get ready for some Spring time looks for the upcoming weeks!

Wednesday's One Item Wonder!

Today's wonder had to be the graphic sweater!! They are popping up all over the place and, well, are just too dang cute not to talk about! (Or to wear for that matter!!)

Cat sweater- Forever21

So wether you pair it with a simple little flare skirt and tights right now or come spring you layer it over a great printed button down and some gingham shorts, you are going to be the cutest little cat lady or lobster lover around!

Pop it in the Winter... and I'm not talking about a new dance move!

Some very sad people out there assume that when the weather starts to take a dip in the 30's, so should their wardrobe! Don't assume that you have to wear blacks, browns and greys all season long! You are not manic-depressive, so why should your Winter wardrobe be?
So when I came across this great fuchsia blouse from J.Crew Factory, I knew I had to add it to my winter blahs! And the best part is that fuchsia is going to be a go-to color for spring so that means more wear for your bucks ladies! And bonus for you, it is on sale now- so happy shopping!

Wednesday's One Item Wonder!

For my first Wednesday's One Item Wonder I decided to go with the one single thing that had completely changed my skin! Ok so technically it's not "one" item, but these four little life savors need each other to work their best so you get them in one sweet little package! The Purity cleanser takes off every stitch of makeup on my face- even my red lip stick in one fell swoop! Every morning I use the Microdelivery wash, which I contribute to lifting and removing most of my post acne scars that I thought I was stuck with a life time! The Hope in a Jar moisturizer feels like water going on, doesn't make me break out (oh and did I mention it was on Oprah's Favorite Things list a couple of years in a row?) So obviously if it's good enough for O, it's good enough for me!

Along with an acne treatment cream and an additional eye cream, these are the only products that have touched my face in four months and the difference it has made for me is incredible! Philosophy's company "philosophy" is "make-up optional skin" and I definitely have that now thanks to this system!

Leopard... It doesn't get any better!

I can count on my hand the number of things that make me extremely happy- leopard is most definitely right up there!! It always has a way of feeling timeless no matter what you pair it with, but then can be so modern at the same time! Pairing my favorite J.Crew sweater with a red lip always reads as classic, but adding in my new maxi skirt from Target takes it up a notch from just being your average run around town outfit. The pop of turquoise from my vintage necklace and little enamel bracelet adds another layer of color and texture to the whole look!

Chambray today... Not gone tomorrow!

A chambray skirt is so versatile and can be worn all year long, so it's a great investment piece! I have had mine for about 4 years now! I always have a rule of thumb for buying a piece to add to my closet: Divide the price by how many times you can wear it! For example- if you buy a $300.00 evening gown, but know you are only going to wear it on that cruise then I would opt for a less expensive version. But if you just came across a wonderful little fit and flare chambray skirt that is around $50.00 and you know you can wear it a crazy amount of times, then it breaks down to pennies a day in the long run! (So basically I'm telling you the skirt is a no-brainer!) And if you opt for a high-waisted version, it makes it more current and on-trend!

Cardigan... Do it to the max!

Forever21 southwestern maxi cardi- $37.80

After finding this little gem of a cardi on Forever21 and how they styled it, it got me thinking... it is amazing how one item can make your outfit! So I took my recent find, made by LoveStitch, and paired it with a simple outfit much like the model's to show that (a) you need a maxi cardigan in your arsenal and (b) investing in great statement pieces will maximize the looks you can get out of your wardrobe!
