Leopard and stripes and pink... oh my!

 

So starting to feel back in the swing of things from the weekend we had (told you Monday about Hudson) I wanted to put a skirt on! And not just any skirt, my new favorite one! It is on trend with the stripes, the black and white, the high waist and the fit-n-flare siloutte- so basically it's PERFECT!! I can't wait to pair it with pretty much every color in my closet and I feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck because I can wear it year round too!

Wednesday wants!

 

This week I want neon! And not just neon anywhere (which I do love) but on a great statement necklace! So bring on the bold, the bright and the outfit making!!

Grandpa may I... borrow your sweater?

 

I had a pretty lack luster weekend tending to a teething 15-month old. Hudson (my son) is on round three of getting more teeth in and when they come in, the devil comes out! So needless to say, I am sleep deprived and a little style deprived! But I did run by Old Navy and found the cutest chambray shirt with little anchors printed all over! It was still a little gross this weekend weather wise, so I just popped my grandpa cardi over it until it warms up some more so I can wear it with a great skirt!  :)

A peter pan collar... two ways!

Shopping at Forever 21 the other day I came across this super sweet peter pan collar top! I love that the sequins are in rose gold (my favorite metal tone) and that I can pair it with anything! So I decided to put in under my favorite J.Crew sweater (Charley) and pop the collar over it! And then when the weather warms up, I can wear the sheer top with just a tank underneath and some cute floral print shorts or maybe even a neon high waisted skirt would be cute!!

Wednesday Wants!

 

I decided to change the name of Wednesday's One Item Wonder over to Wednesday Wants because I just could never decide on just "one" item to post about each week so now with the name change I can post about everything that catches my eye for that week!

So for today I want bows!!!

Adding a little bow accessory to your outfit is an easy way to add a little feminine, girly touch! And lets be honest, they are just too dang cute not to!! These are just a couple of pieces that I think would work great into your existing wardrobe and bonus- they won't break the bank!

And side note- I know it is late in the season for gloves, but I own this pair and I have worn them every day since they came in the mail so stock up on them for next Winter while they are on sale!!

Fifty shades of... purple!

 

So going throught that bag of goodies I got the other day from Paisleigh's Corner that I told you about, I pulled out this gem of a dress! I fell in love with the pale lavender color and the deep scoop in the back. And then I went through my jewelry and found my old purple bangle that I haven't worn in forever- so I decided to go full on purple, on purple, on purple!

Little black dress... with a little pink pop!

As I was out and about in town the other day, I decided to swing by my local boutique- Paisleigh's Corner! They had just gotten a new shipment of spring pieces in and I was dying to try them all on! So about an hour later and not telling how much wallet damage later, I came home with a bag full of new goodies! I fell in love with this little black dress not only because you can never have too many, but because of the mesh design top. It reminds me so much of the Louis Vuitton Spring line with the geometric blocks!

crushing on velvet... it's plum perfect!

 

 A while back, me and a friend made an eventful day of antiquing in Atlanta when we made a stop at Kudzu Antique Market. I feel in love the moment I walked in the door! They have a great selection and I am sure if you are looking for it, they have it!
So when Leah and I made our way to the clothes we were in that booth for probably an hour! Going through tea length skirts, embellished cardigans and vintage prom dresses thinking of an event we can make up just so we can wear them! (Anyone down for an 80's prom themed party?!)
But then I saw it- the sleeve of deep plum (and velvet to boot)! Praying as I got closer to it, "please be my size, please be my size"! And the stars aligned!! It was meant to be and I have been wearing it all winter long! For this outfit I went pretty simple to highlight the blazer itself, just pairing it with jeans and then a pop of color from my yellow necklace and pumps!

Wednesday's One Item Wonder!

Spring is right around the corner and that means one thing... new trends!!

Going through my March mega issue of InStyle, I got more and more excited every time I turned the page! Denim button-downs, black and white, thick chunky heels and best of all FLORALS!

What other season can you truly embrace this girly, feminine print and not look like you are going to a 24-hour tea party? A prom dress... reused and revamped!

 

As I was going through my closet and bagging up all of the things I haven't wore in a while, I came across one of my old pageant dresses in the very back. I hate to just give it away- I mean I have held on to it for this long, so why not do something with it?

So with it's tulle lining still being on trend with some of the fuller skirts I have seen on the runway and in stores I decided to give it one last go around! I paired it with my Forever21 cardigan, vintage pearls and red pumps for a timeless feel.

Polka Dots... paired with polka dots!

Anything that I can put on and feel like I have stepped back in time a little bit, well, just makes me very happy! And polka dots have always been a go-to for me when I want to get a little cheeky or flirty with retro style! I have had my Urban Behavior skirt and Nine West heels both for over 5 years now at least and I still wear it all the time, but never together... until now!
I got inspired from my favorite blogger over at Atlantic-Pacific when I went through her archived posts and just started really noticing how she repeats a lot of patterns and layers to emphasize the look she is trying to achieve. So my thought was polka dots and how can I drive that thought home?
So I just threw these two pieces together and wha-la!

Kate Spade Dress... obsessed in an understatement!

In honor of this amazing Kate Spade frock that has completely stole my heart (and would steal my bank account too with it's $450 price tag) I tried to think of a way to get the sweet feeling of it without the outrageous cost!
So my first instinct was to sew it- and I still might- but I also wanted some options to share so you could get the look too. So my go-to source for all things flirty and retro came to my rescue once again! ModCloth has an amazing selection of dresses to choose from and they even have a category just for fit and flare (just what I needed).
